Cuci is hosting a poetry event with O, Miami.
O, Miami collaborates with the Miami Burning Man community for a one of a kind event at historic Virginia Key Beach. Featuring the ritual hallmark of Burning Man: a massive effigy burn and fireworks display that will accept our offerings. Activities include a writing workshop featuring an O, Miami poet and an incantation led by Cuci of Afrobeta. Cuban graffiti artist and human rights activist “El Sexto” leads an experimental private and public catharsis. All poems will be thrown into the fire as a symbol of transformation and impermanence.
Complimentary refreshments provided in exchange for a complaint at the Bitch-and-Tea bar. Otherwise BYOB.
Accepting poetry/song submissions based on our theme to be read/performed. Please send submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Suggested themes include: Impermanence, letting go, transformation, creation, manifestation, destruction.

We love our local burn. If you haven't or have ever been to Burning Man, it is something to experience. The weather is a breezy 70 degrees and the ocean sounds are lapping at your tent. We have met burners here from Seattle, Chicago, New Orleans and even as far as Finland!
